How does Billday decide which paycheck pays a bill?
Each bill goes to the last paycheck on or before its due date. The amount under each paycheck is what's left after the bills it covers. A bill that wasn't paid stays on your current paycheck, marked overdue, for up to 60 days.
One paycheck is short. What can I do?
Drag a bill to an earlier paycheck that has money left, or tap the suggested Move. You can't move a bill to a paycheck that arrives after its due date. Moving changes only that one due date, not the bill's schedule.
Change my pay schedule or take-home pay
Settings › Paycheck. Billday supports every week, every 2 weeks, twice a month (two days you choose) and once a month.
Reminders don't show up
- Check iPhone Settings › Notifications › Billday is allowed.
- Pick when to be reminded in Billday › Settings › Reminders (7, 3 or 1 day before, or on the due date) and the time of day.
- Bills you already marked paid don't remind you. You can tap Mark paid right on a reminder.
Add the widget
Touch and hold the Home Screen, tap Edit › Add Widget, and search for Billday. The medium widget lists the next bills with a Mark paid button; the small and Lock Screen widgets show what's left and when the next payday is.
I changed a bill and my paid history looks wrong
Changing a bill's amount keeps the amount you actually paid on past dates. Changing its due date or repeat counts the new dates up to your last payment as already handled, so paid bills don't come back as overdue. If something still looks off, email us with what you changed.
Sync between iPhone and iPad
Sign in to the same Apple Account with iCloud turned on for Billday on both devices. Settings › Your data shows whether iCloud sync is on. The first sync can take a minute.
Import bills from a spreadsheet
Settings › Your data › Import bills from CSV. Billday guesses which column is the name, amount, due date and repeat, and you can change any of them before importing. Not sure about the format? Tap "Get a sample CSV to fill in". Rows Billday couldn't read are listed so you can fix them.
Backups and restoring
A backup file is saved each day you open the app (the last 14 are kept) in Files › On My iPhone › Billday › Backups, with a copy in iCloud Drive › Billday when iCloud Drive is on. To restore, open Settings › Your data › Restore from a backup and pick a file. Your current bills are saved to a backup first.
Deleted a bill by mistake
Deleted bills stay at the bottom of Bills under Recently deleted for 30 days, with their paid history. Tap Restore.
Is Billday free?
Yes. In this version every feature is free, with no ads and no account.
Usage statistics
Billday sends usage counts (like "a bill was added"), tied only to a random app-instance ID, to help fix bugs. Bill names, amounts and dates are never sent. Turn it off in Billday › Settings › Share usage stats. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland it stays off unless you turn it on. See the Privacy Policy.
